NAME
       empolrec - recover a database backed up with empolbak(1)

SYNOPSIS
       empolrec [-t] [-v] [-f file] database

DESCRIPTION
       empolrec recovers a database which was backed up using empolbak(1).

       -t        Display  the  contents  of  the  database.  Recovery  of  the
                 database is not performed.

       -f file   if specified, file is the name of the device/file  that  con-
                 tains the backup of the database

       -v        Verbose.   Normally,  empolrec  does its work silently.  When
                 this option is specified, empolrec displays each phase of the
                 recovery  as  it  is  started,  as  well  as the name of each
                 database file as it is recovered.

DIAGNOSTICS
       Error messages are printed if file can not be opened, if it  is  not  a
       backup  file,  if  a  database is not specified or if database is not a
       valid Empress database.
